Over 104 Chinese companies will take part in the three-day Pakistan Industrial Expo 2021 to be held at the Royal Palm Golf & Country Club from October 29, said Chris Zhu, the head of the firm organising the expo, at a press conference on Monday.
He said that around 400 Chinese companies were to attend the fifth edition of the Pakistan Industrial Expo but the number was reduced because of Covid-19 restrictions and unavailability of space for such a large number of companies.
He said the Johar Town Expo Centre was not available as it has been converted into a temporary health facility to handle coronavirus and dengue cases, while the Royal Palm Club could accommodate booths of only 104 companies manufacturing agriculture, hardware, plastic, chemical, auto-parts and energy sector machinery.
Responding to a question, he said some Chinese companies have started local assembly of their products in Pakistan which are also being exported to some African countries. The manufacturing phase will follow after the success of the assembling stage and opening of the international markets post-Covid-19, he added.
